Sweet Retreat is part of the eclectic 50th & France neighborhood located in Edina, MN. Surrounded by boutique’s, restaurant’s, salon’s and cafe’s; the name alone will make you want to make a pit stop. Saturday was my 1st time visiting the cupcake boutique. There was a small collection of cupcakes and cake bites so I opted for the Mocha Chocolate. The frosting was savory, sweet, and finger licking but the actual cupcake was very very dry. I despise dry anything … dry skin, dry weather, dry chicken, and especially dry cupcakes! Not sure if it was a bad day for the #1 Voted Cupcake joint in the Twin Cities or if the City Pages made a huge mistake. Either way, the next time I am in the area I will make it a point to stop by again … If I can find a parking spot!
